There is an invisible barrier in the middle of NYC. Nothing can get through it, and it is growing. Vision gets past it, then fall unconscious. Thor's hammer gets through it, but doesn't come back to him, so Thor must run away as he turns into Dr Don Blake. The source of the force field is the Baxter Building. Annihilus is there. He is dying, and has created the force field to expand, ultimately destroying the universe. The Fantastic Four are trapped in the Negative Zone.
