Telling the tale of a young man with magically mixed parentage and the quest he undertakes at a lover's bidding, Stardust begins with the story of his origin: A liaison between a young mortal and a fairy girl in the 1720s, when humans mingled freely each decade with the world of Faerie at a village festival.
